Alcohol is one of those topics that often gets treated casually, even in Christian circles, but Scripture takes it seriously. Proverbs 23 paints a vivid picture of the destruction that excessive drinking brings, not just physically, but spiritually and relationally. The Bible does not say Christians cannot drink, but it is clear that abusing alcohol leads to real and lasting harm. Our bodies, our souls, and our relationships all bear the cost. God's design is not for us to be controlled by anything other than His Spirit. The question worth asking is not just whether drinking is allowed, but whether it is pulling us closer to God or further away. Whatever habit may be quietly competing for our devotion, God invites us to make room for Him instead.
