Proverbs 26:1-12 offers a vivid and practical picture of what biblical foolishness looks like and how to respond to it wisely. A fool is not simply someone who makes mistakes but someone who repeatedly refuses to learn or change. Giving a fool honor, responsibility, or unchallenged influence causes real damage to everyone around them. Even truth in the hands of a fool can become harmful rather than helpful. But the sharpest warning in the passage is not about the fool at all. It is about the person who is wise in their own eyes, because there is more hope for a fool than for someone who believes they have nothing left to learn. True wisdom begins with humility before God, a willingness to be corrected, and a posture of ongoing openness to His Word and His work in our lives.
